Road Trip

Thursday I get a call from my sister saying, I am going to head up to Park City for an outing do you want to come? Sure, I said and so after dropping the boys off at school I meet her at the mouth of Provo Canyon and we pile into the van. On the way up to Park City we realized that neither of us really knew how to get there. So Johanna started to use our lifelines to find someone to give us directions. Finally Cody saved us and we made it. After walking the outlets for awhile we decided that we better head home so that I could be there in plenty of time to pick up the boys. Looking out the window I ask Johanna do you remember those red hills on the way here. We then decided to stop talking and pay attention to the signs. The next sign we saw said Evanston 17 miles. Oh great. How did we end up here. I quickly decided that this was an emergency and used the "do not use U-turn". By the time that we got to the school the boys had informed everyone that there Mom got lost in Wyoming. Needless to say I was a little embarrassed. When we got back to the mouth of the Provo Canyon do drop Statton and Johanna off at there car. We took some time to play at the park before heading home.

It would be at about that time that I would have paid the $2.99 for a 24 hour use of GPS on my cell phone.

I didn't think of that. I did finally agree with Suraj that it might be a good idea to get one for me in my car.

I don't want this to be offensive but as a UHP wife and someone who loves you, I have to tell you that MANY of those killed on freeways are those who turn using the median because they don't think the traffic will catch up to them quickly when in fact they are turning into the FAST lane of freeway traffic and that traffic doesn't expect there to be a "getting going" vehicle in the fast lane. And people expect people to enter from the right, not the left. It's a good fine and chewing out if you get caught because of that. It's not a warning that is given and it is always the fault of the one entering from the median. Steve gets so mad when he sees someone do that because of all of the people he's had to scoop up and he hates doing notifications. He will stop them even when he isn't in Uniform. One of his troopers came up with the signs stating who can turn in them when we were in Fillmore. It has drastically cut down fatalities. Don't get dead!!! I think Park City is so confusing.

Also, Hannah would love us to forget, but she did head to Vegas going to Delta. Wyoming may be lovely this time of year.

Steve's Blackberry is a lifesaver sometimes. I can't figure out the blackberry and still use mapquest before I leave. Or call him so he can tell me where I need to be. I haven't been to interested in a GPS. We looked at a car with one before we bought the Mazda and it looked so distracting. Steve said you can turn it down to black if needed. That would have been good to know at the time.

Hopefully there were good things to see in Park City and you had a much needed outing. Is it starting to warm up there?

Thanks for the reminder Tulsi.

You know me overly obedient.

I have never done that before and never plan to do it again. Luckily there were absolutely no cars on the road. But, it still gave me an ulcer doing it.
