I am going to start trying to journal each day!! We shall see how that goes.
I have been working on a lesson that I will be teaching to a group of Young Women on sunday. It has been a great reminder to me about how important Mothers are. Such quotes like this one from Julie B. Beck "Mother’s who know are Nurturers. To nurture means to cultivate, care for, and make grow. Therefore, mothers who know create a climate for spiritual and temporal growth in their homes." So during the Science Fair Projects, Ballroom Competitions, Storytelling Festivals, Scouts, etc. that are competing for my time that I also need to take time to work on the climate of our home.
I love how she also says that "Growth happens best in a “house of order,” and women should pattern their homes after the Lord’s house (see D&C 109). Nurturing requires organization, patience, love, and work."
It is so funny how things take time to sink in and create an ah ha moment. I knew all of this before but, it has hit me so strong this time. Maybe because Suraj keeps saying lets make a schedule for when things need to be done in the home.
Boy oh Boy do I ever want a home like that but, I still have so far to go. I love looking toward the ideal. Reaching for something that strikes a cord in my heart but, also stretches me. This weekend we are going to be making a new garden box so we will be ready to plant our peas. That is a random thought but, this also helps me feel like I am working towards self-reliance and an organized home. I guess that is if the peas really grow. lol One of my favorite times of the year is when you go for a walk around the neighborhood and see all of the different gardens that are growing. One neighbor has great tomato plants another has awesome pumpkins or flowers. OK I am rambling now. The joys of neighbors I guess will have to be another post.
I really think that I am going to have to play the Happy Working Song by Amy Adams so that I can call in the rodents to come help me clean. Or set the timer and see how much I can actually get done in 10 min. It is so crazy to me how sidetracked I get on a million different things a day. Especially when my adorable husband is home. He wants to talk and crazy things like that. lol. It seems like refreshing things like expressing my thoughts in a blog, being able to clean the sink to the point of sparkle get put on the side-burner because I am so caught up in all of the external things that are pressing down on me.
Oh well, Ammon's science fair project turned out really fun. They both were able to make great Calvin and Hobbes Valentines and decorate a box before they headed off to school today. They waved me off with a smile as they walked through the school doors. It is times like that, that reminds me as Ammon told me the other night "it will all work out Mom, don't worry".
